Priyanka Kothari, who later came to be known as Nisha, is a Sagittarian born on 30th November 1983 in Kolkata, India. Her father is a businessman while her mother is a homemaker. Nisha is the youngest of two daughters. 

Kothari studied Chemistry at the Dayal Singh College in Delhi. She drifted towards modeling soon after college. She got her break in movies thanks to actor R Madhavan. 

Though Kothari started working in movies since 2003 and is a known face in the industry she is yet to get that one big hit that will catapult her into a different league. She has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada movies.

2003 Nisha Kothari’s first movie was in Tamil starring Madhavan, called Jay Jay. She was seen onscreen as Amoha.

2004 She tried her hand in Telugu cinema with Madhyanam Hathya. 

2005 Kothari got her break in Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar which starred biggies like Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. She played an actress whom Nagre’s older son, played by Kay Kay Menon, is interested in. Her other release in 2005 was James with Mohit Ahlawat. 

2006 In 2006, she was seen in a brief appearance in yet another Ram Gopal Varma movie Darna Zaroori Hai and in a full fledged role as a bar girl in The Killer opposite Emraan Hashmi. 

2007 Kothari’s releases included Shiva and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. In the latter, she played Ghungroo which was based on Hema Malini’s character Basanti in Sholay. But the movie was panned.

2008 She acted with actresses like Simran Bagga and Anushka Shetty in the Telugu movie Okka Magaadu. 

2009 In 2009, Nisha Kothari will be seen in Kartigai, a Tamil movie and Raaj in Kannada.
